Experimental Minecraft Optimizations

Pick mods, get a ready server (closed-world JAR for JDK 21, or a native binary) built on the build host. Experimental, no promises.

What is this, and how does it work?

What it does

Old modded Minecraft servers (the classic Forge era, 1.2.5 to 1.7.10) are slow to start and use a lot of memory. This site takes the mods you pick and pre-compiles the whole server ahead of time, so it starts in seconds and idles at a fraction of the memory, then gives you a ready-to-run folder.

It is experimental: it works on the sets we have tested, but there are no promises for your exact combination.

How to use it

  1. Pick a version (top right). 1.4.7 is available now; the other major versions from 1.2.5 to 1.7.10 are planned.
  2. Tick the mods you want, or press a preset button to fill in a ready-made selection. Dependencies are added for you.
  3. Press Check plan to see the full list and any problems, then Build server.
  4. Wait for the build (about 1 to 8 minutes) and download the archive. Unpack it and run ./start.sh.

What you get

JAR build (always): works on any computer with Java 21 installed.

Native build (optional): a single program that needs no Java, starts fastest and uses the least memory, but only runs on 64-bit Linux and takes longer to build.

Every server includes EMO: a startup notice, a join message and the in-game command /emo (project info, build type, /emo mods lists loaded mods). Project and source: GitHub.

Reading the mod list

excluded / crash / client-only not offered: it only works on a game client, is not a mod, or crashed a test server. HAZARD yellow tags are things in the mod that normally break on modern Java or in a compiled server (hover for what). They are patched automatically by the build; they are shown for transparency.

Mods

Build

nothing selected
Native: no Java needed, fastest start, lowest memory, Linux x86-64 only. Unticked: portable JAR that needs Java 21.
Check plan lists what would be included without building. Build server starts the real build (one per visitor at a time).

Builds

Your builds appear here with live progress. queued = waiting, running = building, done = ready to download, failed = something broke (press log for details). Downloads are kept for the last few builds only.

Every server includes the EMO mod (startup notice, join message and /emo). Every build re-boots the set on a stock server with a test player first and drops mods that crash on login. The archives contain the mods' code, built from the files on the host: keep them private. Builds are public to anyone with the link; one build per visitor at a time.
